By default, an object's brush stroke is centered on the path. You can change options for placing the brush stroke completely inside or outside the path. This lets you control the overall size of stroked objects, and lets you make creative effects, such as using strokes on the edges of beveled buttons.
Centered stroke, stroke inside, and stroke outside
Use the Stroke placement buttons in the Object inspector to reorient brush strokes.
To move a brush stroke inside or outside the selected path:
1 | Choose a Stroke Placement button in the Object inspector: inside, centered, or outside. |
2 | Optionally, choose Fill over Stroke. |
Normally, the stroke overlaps the fill between the path and the inside edge of the stroke. Choosing Fill over Stroke fills selected objects all the way to the paths. Choosing this option may cause opaque fills to obscure parts of the brush strokes inside paths. Fills with a degree of transparency may tint or blend with brush strokes inside paths. | |
